Just as pathologists are consultants to physicians and surgeons, pathologists are consultants to researchers. The Division of Transdisciplinary Pathology makes consultation services and the core research facilities available to the entire UIC research community. The Office of Pathology Bioresources is the administrative liaison between individual investigators and the Department's faculty and core laboratories.
The Department maintains the core biorepository laboratory for the campus, and a state-of-the-art core histology laboratory with equipment and staff to generate tissue microarrays and to perform computer-assisted image analyses.
Wherever medical disciplines cross over into pathology, you will find a member of this Division available to assist and to teach. Autopsy pathology – a fundamental transdisiplinary effort – is supervised by this Division.
