Meeting the challenge of highly complex medical and surgical care delivered at the UIC medical center, the Division of Surgical Pathology provides "routine" and specialized primary diagnostic services and a robust consultation service to other institutions.
Every member of the Division is engaged in novel translational research designed to impact the future practice of tissue-based pathology. And because the future of pathology rests with the next generation of pathologists, the Division of Surgical Pathology designs and implements creative and effective strategies to teach pathologists-in-training.
